Head lice are tiny insects that live in human hair and they are particularly common in children. Transmission of lice is relatively rare and only after direct, prolonged, head to head contact.
- If we suspect your child has head lice, a member of staff will inform you by the end of the school day so that you can arrange for treatment as necessary.
- Treatment is only recommended if live lice are seen.
- More information on effective treatments can be found here.
- Alternatively, you can discuss treatments with your local pharmacist or health centre.
